What’s on in Oxford this weekend, 15th and 16th March 2014

March 12, 2014 by Milla Leave a Comment

Brrr, it’s all chilly again, so whilst we’ll wrap up warm and hope the sun comes back again soon, we’re going to plan to do some of the fun indoor activities that are happening this weekend, because the weather is less depressing if you have things to do!

First, though, some advance notice for the Oxford Literary Festival, which is happening from next weekend: 22nd – 30th March.  Even better, we have a fab family ticket to the event of your choice, so click on the image below to enter – it’s an easy question, we promise!

Families Dance Workshop – Swirling Seeds, 16th March 11am-1pm (3 sessions)
Ashmolean Museum. £5 per child

Children aged 5-11 must be accompanied by an adult.

This event is part of the Oxford University Museums ‘Reactions’ Festival, as well as the Siobhan Davies Dance 2014 programme of exhibitions and events exploring the dialogue between choreography and horticulture across the seasons.

Ashmolean Family Friendly Activity Station, Tues – Sun 10am-5pm
Ashmolean Museum, Free

The Ashmolean has plenty for families, with exciting galleries as well as trails to help you find interesting objects and themes.

The Ashmolean Family Friendly Activity Station is available at all times, close to the main entrance. Visit it for free gallery trails and sketching materials.

Or if you can bear to trek outside the city limits by a little way, the Oxfordshire Science Festival is taking place over the next couple of weeks in Abingdon and have lots of fun activities – a large number of which are free.   Our sister site, Mumsnet Oxfordshire, even has tickets to three of their most exciting events to give away. If you’d like to enter then just click on the images below…
